what kind of advice do you want??? basic turbo stuff? if so i know one!
let your engine run for a bit before you shut it off...two minutes or more is good i've heard...or invest in a turbo timer that will keep it running after you shut it off and shutdown by itself. lets cool oil flow through the turbo before it stops.

my engine and turbo are running fine for the moment, but I have 186000 miles on this truck and I would like to keep it running as long as possible. I would just like to have someone with some knowlege be able to look over what I have and evaluate it. I have some ideas and have read up on turbos.

The toyota turbos arent that good of turbos, they dont last very long, the bearings wear out and they let oil leak into the intake, causing you to burn oil. The dealer quote seems about right, $2200, is about right, you would be better off doing a swap to something like a t3, t3/t4 hybrid, etc. Rebuilds probably cost more than $800 though. If it runs fine, then dont worry about it!

I 2nd the vote that if it runs fine, don't worry about it.
If you want to improve performance and make it last longer do two things:
1) Install a flex pipe in the down pipe.
2) Larger downpipe and exhaust system - it makes a difference on the turbo.
3) Synthetic oil.
If you're keeping that CT20, tear it down before it goes - put in new bearings and seals. It's hard to find parts for, so you'll have to shop around.
A basic rebuild that would cost $250 on a garrett costs $1k on that thing if the parts are in bad shape.
In terms of swap, the easiest one to do is a CT26... You can use the stock manifold... t3/t4 is a great turbo too, but your ecu wasn't designed for it.
To go above 170hp or so, you'll need to do the ECU and the turbo. Your motor has a lot of potential.

I lived in Milwaukee for 7 years, (moving back early next year) flex pipe doesnt last too long in the rust belt. i was in constant flex-pipe rotation on my old accord's exhaust until I stopped being cheap and bought a new cat-back.
