I'm considering parting out an 89' toyota 4runner 22R-E ATX

The engine 22-RE, transmission (ATX), interior parts, lights, and most other parts are in good shape. Has grey interior, engine never burns oil, atx shifts nice.

I am located in Montreal, Quebec. If someone wants to buy the whole thing for parts or a project or just wants to check it out just let me know. Its registered.

It has only 228,000km which isn't so bad for these engines. It was driven by a woman (my aunt) for about the first 10 years of its life and then my dad bought it and used it as his main ride for a while and fixed up the fenders one summer and repainted it black but that fix didnt last...we brought it camping only once and I used it most of this summer to get to work until the brakes needed replacing and cost something crazy (they said they were afraid that if they tried to take off the wheels that it might break the calipers or something like that.. I think they just didnt want to work on an old car) and it developed a rust hole in the exhaust.
I just want to get a feel of what parts people would be interested in... If anyone wants pictures of a certain part just let me know. The motor and relays in the rear hatch work great but the rear hatch door metal itself is rusted.

Here are some pics, more will come if wanted. The wheel rims could probably sandblasted clean, it has locking front wheels. The shocks still works great even though it looks rusted in the pictures... I think my dad replaced a few years ago. I'd like to keep it and fix the brakes and body myself but I don't have a garage or the equipment...

PS: At one point my dad had two 4runners. A showroom condition 89' 4runner and this 89' 4runner..... he bought it because he liked this one so much. Sadly it was stolen from in front of our house 2 years ago... it was really mint... had original grey/black paint job.. ZERO rust... everything working....

 

BAD NEWS!!!


I went to check the oil on the 4runner what I found was veryyyyyy bad.... A THICK AS MOLASSES GREY SLUDGE.....

I guess the main gasket blew and coolant flooded into the engine... so if anyone is in the area and wants to come by and pull off some parts for FREE just let me know. The funny thing is... the engine still runs fine... :/

 

the car is gone... sold it to someone who has a club and they are probably going to fix it up.
