who here has one.any problems, i pick mine up tomorrow i onl here good things about them so i know that im going to love it

 

It is great. It will protect your vehicle very well, and is tougher than nails. I have bounced and landed the weight of the truck on it several times, and no issues.

That being said, the bolt system they use to attach the skid to the xmember sucks. i beat on mine, and i ended up destroying the skid plate just to get it off. The bolts were so stuck that drilling them out didn't work, heat didn't work, finally had to grind in and rip them out with pliers, demolishing the skid plate in the process. Its great to have a smooth belly, but i for one am changing to regular bolts. An ocasional snag is better than not being able to remove the skid plate.

However, like I said, you can't beat them for toughness.

I am sure the 1st are diff than a 3rd gen.

Mine is bad to the bone. I am now a ton more confident about the front end protection.

I had no problems at all putting mine on. It is not going anywhere.

He makes good stuff...going to pick up his winch plate soon.

Im about to get one since im about to destroy my stock skids here in the weekend upcoming. Ive seen some ppl hit hard ÅÅÅÅ with em and they looked good after.. easy to repair I bet to

 

Not sure how the 3rd skids go on. I was just assuming he'd use the same hardware, so that the skid was smooth on the bottom...mabye not? Anyway, its a top notch product, like i said, and i'm glad you are getting one.

just throw on a couple squirts of paint to cover the scratches if you want, and youre done

 

went and got them today. will try to put them on tomorrow and with some pics. Bud was very nice to dill with,a stand up guy.and he had a pair of dana 60s for the taco.

Be sure to prime them first! ...and degrease them even before that.

 

Yup I second that, rub them down and get all the greese off, the Rustoleum makes a primer specifially for new metal, hose them down with that, then lay your base top coat. My paint has held up great and doesn't flake or chip off after a hard hit, now it's an easy fix to touch up after a trip.

no im not going to tellico.but i did prime them with the rustoleum stuff and rolled the bed liner stuff on them. should get them put on tonight.

 

Mind takin' pics of the underside after you mount them? I'd be interested to see it mounted up close. And mind fortelling what the final damage ($) was after shipping?

 

it would take 20 yrs for rust to eat through those!
