3vze fuel injector r/r

Does anyone have any experiences with r/r'ing the fuel injectors on a 3vze? I'm going to have them sent out and cleaned http://www.witchhunter.com/ but I've heard that there are a bunch of seals that make it a PITA to work on.

Anyone done it before? Any advice?

Are you talking about it being a PITA to get them out or to clean them yourself?

I'm talking about the seals involved. I'm going to send them away to be cleaned.

Here's a quote from Seattlegti on 4x4wire:

"SIX count em SIX seals on each injector! Not just orings either, bushings, cups, quadrings. Why couldn't they just thread in like a spark plug for Pete's sake?

Problem is the center injector on the drivers side. Doesn't seem to get much pressure with no no retaining bolt above it, what a PITA.
I think we're up to about $200 in rubber, viton,ultem and nitrile so far. Not to mention the three afternoons of pulling it apart, putting it back, finding a leak, pulling it apart,buying buddys beer, yadda-yadda.
Man, go with the shop rebuild. SO not worth doing it youself."

I had mine sent out to be cleaned and balanced. The rebuild price included everything but an upper and lower grommet and an o-ring IIRC. Call Jacque at Toyota of Dallas (TRDparts4U) and I'll bet he can help. Also, check with whoever is doing the cleaning to see what they will or won't be replacing.

Thanks! So was the job as much of a pain as the guy makes it out to be?

I work at Toyota so I get a discount on parts.

I didn't do it myself. The guy who r&r'd my engine did it as part of the job. He was good about pointing out which parts of the job were a pain. He didn't mention the injectors as being any trouble. Did you check the FSM to see what's involved?
