ARGH body lift problems!! Problems solved, Pictures of final product are up!!!
Im installin my WabFab body life on my 4runner and so far I have run into some purdy damn annoyin problems . Took me about 30 minutes to get the front bumper off due to some of the hardest to turn bolts ive ever came to in my life. After that ive finally started gettin to my body mount bolts. The first one i came to, the bolt head is startin to turn but the nut or bottom of the bolt is not therefore im bout to break it off. Should i just break it off or should i just stop while im ahead and "seek professional assistance". Theoretically if i break them, im gonna be replacing them anyway so its really no big deal, correct? Is this just my 4runner or were ur guys bolts this damn hard to turn as well. Sorry for the rantin but damn

i got a match...would that work? hahaha man i wish i had all the good tools. My tools are the bare essentials (ratchets, wrenches, sockets, duck tape). I aint got all the goodies. What do yall think of just breakin them off because i need to put the new bolts in it anyway. IS there any risk in doing this becasue i would really rather not seriously screw up my runner.

I basically had the same thing happen to one of my bolts. It bent and stripped so i ended up using a hacksaw and had to cut it in half. You can see my pics and install here.. https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f199/rockets-1992-4runner-build-up-thread-totaled-67410/

PB Blaster. Soak them at least overnight and try again perhaps or just break them off, cut them off...whatever. Make sure you replace the ones you remove elsewhere w/ OEM so they are coated. The ones on my 1st gen all came off easily after spraying them w/ PB Blaster the night before.
I was nervous to look at the thread when I first saw the thread...the first sentence is even kinda misleading if you don't read it right, but it isn't my body lift kit that is the problem...it's your stupid truck.
Good luck.

alright come on guys i need some help. im half way through my body lift, everything is goin better then before. got all the bolts out/loose except one that is bent on the front drivers side. I have cut all that i can with the sawzaw and i cannot get the damn thing to budge at all. can someone plz come up with a picture of what the busing for the front drivers mount looks like so that i can see what else i can cut and what needs to stay. anyone got any other ideas

Cut the head off the bolt then pull it out w/ some vice grips.
The bushing is inside both pieces of rubber as it is there to keep you from tightening things too much and crushing the rubber.

Go to your local hardware store and get a MAPP gas torch. 20.00 max heat that nut till it almost turns red and then spray PB on it let it sit for a few minutes then heat that bugger up again, it'll come loose! Watch out for the flare up you don't wan't to burn up yer rig/.
i used lots of heat and PB doing these

alright guys, thanks for all the help but i think i have purdy much gotten things buttoned up. I still need to try and figure out how to get the rest of that bushing out of the front drivers (the one right under the front bumper) but the rest of the body lift is done. I need a front bushing though because mine is cut to about 50 pieces in my yard and still part of it remains to piss me off. Do any of yall have a bushing for it used or new i dont care. I need one kinda like soon because there is no spacer or anything in there its just open. Id appreciate if yall had one lying artound or somethin. thanks for all the help guys.

thanks rocket, id appreciate that. by the way, your truck is wut inspired me to build up my 4runner. some 33x10.50 BFG ATs are gonna be ordered as soon as my 31s wear out. its just a shame wut happened. if perhaps i couldnt get ahold of one for a lil while. would it hurt my 4runner NOT having the bushing and body lift in there. I assume over time it would but how bout for a couple days, maybe a week.
