Bodylift,gear shift question

What have you guys done about your shifters after the lift. I have a 93 xtracab 4x4 and so far cut the crap out of my shifter boot(top one) had to remove the bottom one completely, cut the floor and still am having problems getting into 2nd. Im thinking of getting the leather covers out of a runner but it might look stupid. Any ideas

Turn it around. You can also extend the shift rod and bent it some. You're gonna need to heat it up some.

My kit came with 3" extensions for the gear shifts. I took them down and had them cut and rewelded.

It's worked ok, but I always had trouble getting to stay in 2, 4, and R without holding it in. Recently I had a shop swap the tranny for me after it burned up and they had the same trouble but thought it was something they did. He said they notched the shifter plate out a little and got it fixed for me.

So, 3" extensions and notched shift plate for the win.

A 4x4 shop told me they usually just left the shifters stock but just heated them up amd straightened the bends out a little. I can't vouch for that but that's what he said they did.
