Good price for machine shop to "do" head?
Just talked to a couple shops, and the best price I was quoted was $20 for an inspection and $100 to do the whole thing (resurface, pressure test, valve seats, spring tensions, etc...).
Two part question, is $100 a good price for the works, and do I really need anything more? Or should I spend the money and have it done just becuase I have it out?

when i had my 20R head fully rebuilt, it ran me about $275 in labor. i had it fully cleaned, the head was resurfaced on a mill, valve guides replaced, seats cut for larger valves and lapped, and fully assembled. i also had them put about an hour of port work in on the intake side.
had it been a basic run of the mill rebuild, it probably would've run about $100-150, if you supplied all the parts.

The prices i got to pressure test, clean and resurface, replace 4 intake vales and lap was $250-270 here in ripoff-ville...
Everyone seems to get better prices than me though. I think the mechanics are a little greedy around here.
