Installation instructions are on the page too.

There is a brief mention of this setup too in the new July/August issue of 4WD Toyota Owner magazine.

I may have to order one after the FJ arrives.

Not me. The stock intake looks well sorted to avoid hydrolock while avoiding hot air feed. This setup, with no dyno data for backup and unknown filter media, would feed heated air that already passed through the a/c and engine radiators. I'd be looking for gains from the exhaust side, not the intake. Bet it's loud, though!

I am sure we will see them on the street rigs, but for a rig that gets wheeled, an open element filter is a really bad idea.

It still makes me laugh when I see people with open element filters and gauze and oil filters on the trail.

Good points guy's, perhaps best left off a rig that will see other than pavement.

I know I ran a K&N for awhile on my 4Runner, and I hated it.
All the work you had to do to reoil it, I am back to stock Toyota paper filters now for the past few years.

Easier to change, no oiling, ect...

One of the first mods I will do is replace the factory muffler with a Magnaflow much like I have now, except for the bigger tubing.
My 3.0 is using 2.25" tailpipe, I am willing to bet the 4.0 must have at least 2.50" tail pipe?

Also I will get a new tailpipe routed out the side.
I do not like them coming out the back like the FJ has.

Check with local laws since I know Colorado has laws regarding the exhaust exiting in front of the rear wheels if it didn't come like that stock. Now how often they actually enforce this law is the question meaning probably not often but if you have to pass an actual state inspection every year or so it could be a problem.

In Washington;

WAC 204-90-130
Exhaust systems on passenger vehicles shall discharge the exhaust fumes at a location to the rear of the vehicle body or direct the exhaust fumes outward from the side of the vehicle body at a location rearward of any operable side windows.
