I'm a noob at digital video stuff. I'm wondering what you all are using for editing mpegs/avi's/wmv's together, adding effects, dubbing sounds, adding text, etc.

Also, are there any good beginner's tutorials out there?

 

i use premiere 6.5, it was a 'gift' from the internet.

it works well. it has a good help index too, i've always found what i need, but i don't do very complicated stuff...

windows movie maker isn't too bad for beginner stuff, it's pretty user friendly. i dunno if you can do mpeg stuff with it though.

 

i use vegas from sony.

it ranks up there with the pro stuff like premiere, final cut, etc.

i just bought a the lite version this weekend from fry's for $90 with an $80 rebate. the package is called sony's/corel's "visual creation studio pro".

it comes with the lite version of vegas and a full version of paint shop pro x...
