Yellow All-Pro FJC

Wowwie wow wow. I stopped by the All Pro shop today to get my broken steering arms replaced. Over in their fab shop they had a Yellow '07 FJ up on the lift. They had basically nixed the entire drivetrain. There were two pallets of stock parts just sittin around. They replaced the transmission and transfercase with an Atlas. I guess it bolts right up but its a wiring nightmare. They had hung a Dana 60 in the rear with a 4 link increasing the wheel base by 3 inches. They had the entire IFS hacked off and were rigging up mounts for the front links where the'll be hanging another Dana 60. They had already welded up an internal cage, trimmed the rear wheel well and stripped all the bumpers. I think they said they were going to stick on some 37 or 39 BFG Crawlers. Sounds like the're going to paint it as well. Can't wait to see it in Petersen's!

Did they happen to say if that FJ had ATRAC? I am curious if they have figured out how to do the SAC while keeping the traction control functional.

I'm assuming they got rid of the ATRAC since they ditched the strock tranny and transfercase, but who knows. They said the hardest part so far was wiring up the Atlas, think its possible that they rigged it up with ATRAC?

The only difference today was that the rear axle was hung with temporary links.

Very cool Josh
I do not think it would be possible to maintain the ATRAC with a SAS. It is wheel sensor operated. I have though a lot about this since I have a 01 with the same system. In fact I am going to do a e locker swap so I will have nearly the same exact drive train as a new FJ. Best of both worlds!

It is like a race to get mods designed for the new FJ's. A lot of money to be had. Good to see that the Yota off roading legacy will continue with the new breed!

That is the Ultimate Adventure Cruiser.

Why even try keeping the Atrac with likely Detroits and Pro-Rock 60's?

Where that rig is headed, A-trac is going to be the least of it's worries.

I think it is getting Etrac I noticed on the Peterson's web-site that Eaton was the official differential sponsor.

I would be interested to know what they changed the transmission out with. I am assuming that any late model 4runner/Tacoma/Tundra tranny will probably mount but I am not sure why they would bother changing the transmission unless Advanced Adapters just assembled it all for them to make installation easier.

The Atlas can go behind 4R and Taco autos, so maybe it is still stock?

E-lockers? Interesting.

It can go behind the new Taco and 4runner Autos? I knew they produced an adapter for the older Pre 2005 Tacos and Pre-03 4runners but I didn't know they did one for the newer models.
