i have a non-SR5 p/u with lightless rear view mirror. is the truck already wired so i can just buy the mirror with map lights and hook it right up?

It should be I did on an 89 I had a while back.

 

i tried to do it on my 4runner, but it wasnt wired...hope your P/U is... I love that light in my 92

 

Yeah the light is really nice. My last truck did not have it, nor was wired for it. The truck I have now has it, but it came with a broken mirror. I swapped mirrors before I got rid of my last truck, so now I still have no light. I hope I find one at a junk yard. You can remove the mirror and harness and check to see if there is a wire. It will be an obvious yes or no.

 

Check eBay. I purchased a replacement middle-row dome light for $5.74, including shipping costs, from Canada.
