how to remove crank gear ?

how to remove crank gear ?

I am struggling to remove the crank gear of of the snout of the crank so i can replace that seal that is leaking worse then the exxon valdiez. I am trying to use a crank pulley tool be i cant get it to work.

I got mine off with 2 large screwdrivers. Put 1 at 3 o'clock and 1 at 9 o'clock, pad the block with some rags and pry it off. Pullers don't work too well as it's hard to get the jaws behind the gear.

Just to confirm, you're talking about the timing belt gear.
