Anyone in CO. seen this tire carrier?

I saw this tire carrier & think it might be a great solution to carrying tires up to 49" (claims the manufacturer)
Anybody out in Colorado seen this or know of the shop? From the pictures, I assume it could be mounted on a few aftermarket bumpers. Any of you fabricators got an opinion?

Thanks Red 85, I was looking for a way to carry a 39.5 Bogger & this might be what I am looking for. I have heard some bad things about the swing out arms of bumper mounted rear carriers cracking welds and such on large tires/rims.

I think its a good design, much stronger with 4 mounting points rather than a single point. The only downside I can see is being it might be in the way when it folds down when you need to access items from the rear, but probably not a huge issue and worth not having all the problems associated with those single spindle design bumpers.

Seems like a lot of effort and probably a lot of money for a tire to still be right in the way when you need to get to the back of the truck. I mean, trying to get the top off my runner by myself is a real pita anyway, nevermind with a massive tire and carrier in the way. Cool design though. Too bad they couldn't make it with the same design but have it swing sideways or something.

I think the whole point of a new design was to get away from the swing out design. Also the tire is lower to the ground when folded down, for easier removal/installation of the tire. I know I hate trying to lift a 39.5 bogger by myself, a real PITA, I have to have help.

My only concern is still raising that tire. won't it still be dead weight trying to raise that sucker? I've got 35's and it's a PITA already on my bumper/tailgate design so I'm having some thoughts on how I want to redo mine.

As soon as i can get some time i will go and talk to Chris, and if he needs a rig to mock up what you want i can take mine down there and have him do it off mine.
That is the owners rig that is on and i can take a look at it then, he also works with a mechanical engineer so i am sure that it is pretty sound.

I will measure my current bumper to see if it will fit, if not it will have to be cut off, as it is welded on.

My biggest concern with this thing is rear access, especially if you have a 3rd or 4th gen 'Runner (which the hatch). If the design could be worked out so that you could still use the rear area, it would be awesome.
This is all assuming you use the truck in a somewhat expeditionary style. If I had a trail truck/buggy type vehicle, this might be the way I'd go.

Fellas - keep in mind this is for BIG tires. If you're riding on 40's, you'll probably not have great access to the rear cargo area anyways. The tire rack may actually make a decent step to HELP with the access in these tall trucks.

Humm, overall a great idea. I've pondered this problem myself and was thinking about building a swing away style, but mine would have some engineered strength built into it for the weight. I was thinking coming off the bumper in a triangle or 3 sided pyramid, so instead of having a single post which often bends, have a triangle with the post in the center. Then there would be esentially a pipe riding around the center post slightly offset for bumper clearance, which rode on some torrington bearings to handle the weight of the tire.
For the tire, I wanted to develop a kind of elevator lift. So the tire assembly would ride straight up and down on a geared track for lowering and raising. Kind of like a high lift jack, but more of a geared mechanism that moved smoothly up and down. With a little gearing, even a weakling could raise and lower the biggest of tires. You could have a handle that installed right through the tire. Think of a hand started car or tractor.
In any case, that was my idea. I'm probably not doing a good job describing it, I'd be happy to elaborate if anyone was interested.
