it's a lot of work, and i wouldn't really feel comfortable making this stuff and shipping it off to some unknown truck. as of now i will make 1 more, and it will be for msw0085, who is local.

i think i need to cut down the frame mounts so my spare will still fit in there... i wish i had thought about that earlier. :pat:

for bruce or any others that have a bumper like this: any tips on cutting the angles on the ends of the main beam? would a compound miter saw with a metal blade work?? or do you just kinda go at it with an angle grinder...

try a band saw with a metal cutting blade?

 

I built a jig to cut the angles, top to bottom measure in 6" and the other angle depends on the flare type you have. I use a metal cut-off saw......

You could cut the first angle then grind to fit. total width should be aprox 4' 11" at the widest point.

As for the spare tire, wait till the bumper is completed then take it back off, use a string line and marker to cut out a semi-circle where the spare goes....

no, measure in from the bottom corner 6" not the diagonal

 

just looking at the 2x4 height and it seems like it's up a bit high for the plastic shroud to fit? did you check? My rig has a 1 1/2" body lift.......

 

yeah, i decided not to use the shroud. i was going to, but i didn't really understand how you mounted it, and just decided not to deal with it. i think i'll just plate the top.
