value of good heads on a 94 3vze 3.0
I just bought a 5vzfe engine at the junk yard and it has a $100 core charge for my 94 runner with a rod hanging out of the block on a 3.0. My question is how much would one expect to pay for a set of good used heads off of a 3.0. Is there any parts that that would be worth selling to anyone?

Yea all that is fine it doesn't mean the heads are ready for install on another engine.
Personal Example: I baught a core from a guy and he wanted $400 for it cause it ran before he pulled it and he pulled it cause he was chasing a dead cyl. According to him the problem turned out to be bad injectors and so he changed out the old injectors to new ones on the used engine now installed in his runner it ran fine. He said well the old engine was fine it was just the injectors so I want $400, I told him I'll give you $200 and thats assuming that what you are saying is true. He needed cash so he agreed.
I got the old injectors and the #1 cyl was not in good shape so bad story injector store checks out. I got the engine on the stand and from the outside it looked good no obvious signs of problem so an easy rebuild right? EEEEEHHHH No, pulled the heads and right away you can see that the HG was blown at #1 cyl and had previously been replaced (other side had the original HG). You could see exactly what happened coolant leaked onto the hot #1 piston causing it to crack and fowling the injector hence the bad injector.
The point is that you need to check them (if you can do it yourself) or have them checked to be sure they are good before you assume they are and you sell them to someone. Worst case scenario they are warped beyond repair as a result of the bottom end overheating (no oil).
Just be sure, ya know what I mean.
