Tundra top plate same as 3rd gen 4Runner?

Are the Tundra top-plates for the front struts the same as the 3rd gen 4Runner or interchangeable?

I was wondering because I will be running the 97 FJ80 front coils in the rear and a 2.75" spacer in front, but the spacer is made for the Tundra and mounts like a top-out on top of the strut. Heres a link to what I will get if it fits the 4runner top plate. http://www.extremetrucktoys.com/tun_lift_2.htm

You're 100% correct.

Damn, that sucks. Whats a recommendation for a top-out spacer that will give me approx. 2.5-2.75"?

Ditto, they are different.
Ask Bamachem or Schaffer for reccomending spacers.

Yeah I can confirm that, I have a set of tundra top plates and they are slightly larger than the 3rd gens. Just enough so that the tundra ones will not fit on a 3rd gen 4runner.

I think daystar has a spacer and stud kit for 2.5" lift that that is a combo top spacer and preload spacer. Probably not what you want.

I think cornfed or toytec would be your only option for a top spacer that big.

4runnin,

Like I said in your other post, top plate is different. Try Cornfed if you're planning to stay with spacers.

GOod luck

Since there are 3 holes (centering would not be an issue) would drilling slotted holes be an option?

I have not tried this, it's merely a suggestion.
