Talking Looking for a Brush guard w/o breaking the bank

I have a 1998 SR5 4Runner and I'm in the market for a front brush guard. I dont want to break the bank, so are there any decent quality guards out there that look good? Thanks in advance for any help given.

Mine was $129 IIRC, from Summit or Jegs (can't seem to remember anything today.)

Ive got a WAAG that I purchased from CalRox about 18 months ago.. Im ready to sell and upgrade to a heavier bumper.. I bought it from him for 150.. Im looking at getting approx 100 bucks for it. its a 3 piece one so you can have either the grill on alone or with the 2 head light covers..

Careful with those

The problem with some brush guards is that they prevent the airbags to deploy because they interfere with the sensors for the air bags. Didn't know that until I took product's liability in law school.

They can also often do more damage additional damage in an accident than if you didn't have one at all (esp the ones that wrap around the lights). That being said they do look very cool. The exceptions to the rule are bumpers made by ARB and TJM which have integrated brush guards.....these can withstand a heck of a hit before yielding.

First, I don't have a problem with anyone buying a brushguard - I had one and loved it for about 6 months and then realized that a brushguard is not protection against anything - even "brush". Check out the threads - brushguards top the list as most useless upgrades. I soon went ARB after selling the guard to my sister for her tacoma.

That said, do what makes you happy! I just like to present the other side of the coin!
