Lifting wife's 4runner

done a lot of searching and have seen a lot of people run different things.
This is what I am thinking of running on my wife's 99 4runner 4wd:
- 3" Revtek Spacers
- Panhard drop
- front diff drop
-285/75/16 tires

i would really like to just run new coils or struts, but I haven't been able to find anybody that makes a 3" lift springs so i can run 285s.

Is there a better setup, am I not even close?

From what I have seen the 3 inch front spacers might be too much lift for your front, especially on a 1999 4runner. It seems you may end up with too much angle on your CV's, even with a differential drop installed.

Fink, might chime in on this if he sees this post... he used 3 inch Cornfeds and had issues on the front CV's.

Tundra springs on the front, with OME 891's on the back seem to be a favorite. SEARCH....lots of info.

From what I've read if it's a street only vehicle, you should be able to run 285's with 2-2.5" lift (and run one of the many strut lift combinations) and some pinch weld hammering. Maybe I completely missed what people were saying, but it seems like 285's only rub when really being pushed hard with 2.5" of lift. I'm sure someone can confirm or deny this...

I'm not sure if I'm off mark here because the techie part of my truck is not what I'm known for, but I ran a 3.5" coilover suspension lift and rubbed every time I went into a driveway at an angle past 5 mph. No pushing hard there... just everyday driving. The remedy for me was a 2" body lift on top of the susp. lift. Good luck.

Like Roof had mentioned... If you do a 3" lift in front, the 1" diff drop would still not be enough since you have a 99. Your 99 4wd coils are almost 1" higher than the other years 4wd coils. You should stick stick to a 2-2.5". If you really want to go a bit higher, then you can go another 2" easily with a bodylift.

go with the Tundra/ TRD/ LC setup.
Replaces your springs and shocks, gives a great ride and can fit 285s...

If you are not in a rush, I will be selling my complete lift kit in March. Tundra setup up front with diff drop (from Sonoran Steel), plus the Sonoran Steel drop panhard in the rear and OME 891 OR 892 (your choice!) and OME firm shocks (and daystar bumps). Like I said - total lift to fit 285+ - you just need a 1" body lift (cheap and easy). Check out my avatar - this is the setup with 35" tires! Zoinks, Scoob!

Anyway - PM me if you are interested. This is a proven and rugged setup.

The Tundra lift seems to be the best bet from all the input.

You can always go w/ some taller springs w/ a 1" body lift to clear the 285's. Bamachem has the Tundra lift and a 1" body lift and runs 305/70/16's.
