Anyone make a factory a/c kit for my 94 p/u??
Hello everyone....
As the topic states, I was curious if anyone knew where I could get something like this?? I tried calling the dealer with no luck of course, and I could probably source everything from a junkyard if I really wanted too but I am really looking for a nice complete kit if there is such a thing....I got a real sweet deal on a 94 4x4 p/u from my friend, so I couldnt pass it up either way...Only drawback??? No a/c...
Any help is appriciated, thanks!!!

now that i think about it this may be for a 1st Gen 4Runner, but ask around from people like him on ebay. They may have more.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone....I was actually considering selling the truck (I could make a few bucks off it still), but the ackits.com does not look like a bad alternative....Anyone actually used there kit????

The compressor was a major pita, I had to undo the bolts for the PS pump and move it out of the way. It probably took about 20 hours but that was mostly trying to figure out the best paths for the hoses etc. If you had another vehicle with A/C to compare to it would be easier.
If you do it make sure you seal the evaporator sealing area well so it doesn't leak and use NYLOCK on the o-rings. You might need an electric fan in front of the condensor. I don't have one and it works fine.

personally, I'd skip aftermarket kits. *MY* experience is that the compressors are WAY louder than stock and not nearly as efficient. I sold an entire AC system out of a parted 89 xcab for <$150. Just needed a charge after install. Hardest part is replacing the heater core/fan assembly. This would be *MY* advice.

Try these guys...

I spoke with them a year ago when I was shopping a/c units for a possible 4Runner purchase. I thing they piece together turn-key Genuine Toyota kits.
Also, here's a link to a very old thread on putting in a/c units on Toyota trucks. Don't know if it is helpful or not.
