after 12 years,the rear of my 1994 4runner is showing a little bit of sag.I want to get the Downey springs, but i dont want that extra 1.5 inches of lift. Any other heavy duty springs available that restore stock ride height?

 

I'm in the same boat with my 94 SR5 truck. I'd like a nice set of rear springs. Alcan, Downey, NWOR (I know, I know.) Any thoughts on this one guys?

 

Your rear has sagged at least 1.5". The springs will not give you any lift at all it will just make your truck sit level. Look at my write up in the tech section for some good before and after shots. Get out of the saggy club!

 

the Aftershot in your write up is exactly what i dont want my 4runner to look like.its higher in the rear than than the front. i dnt tow or load the 4runner,so i guess ill just have to go with an oem style..But the detail installation instructions are very helpful.

 

I used the Eibach springs - did a great job of leveling the truck out. The back is maybe a tad higher than the front, but if you wanted it dead level, you could always crank the TBars a bit.

Another choice would be to put a spacer in it. Daystar makes spacers for it.

 

Another option is to get some OEM replacements through either Advanced Auto or carparts.com They're a rather decent variable rate spring that gives no lift and can be had for $50/pr on carparts.com or $70 through Advanced. I cross referenced these springs and they're both MOOG P/N CC255 This link may or may not work, but I'll give it a try. clicky

my 4runner has Performance Products rear springs and it sits level and they are purdy stiff springs. i had my hitch haul up there the other day with a toolbox and 2 gas cans and the back didnt move down at all but the ride is still nice. i suggest going with them.

 

I've heard nothing but good things about Alcan springs. I was talking to Ray at Yota Ray's in Calgary, he was telling me that you can actually order Alcans specifically for your application(ie your springs will be different that your neighbors), and because of that individuality, if you break a leaf, they can send you an exact replacment.
