4wd powersteering interchangable with 2wd truck

Just a quick question... I have a '91 2wd pick up with a 22re and no powersteering, i have been looking into installing power steering, and was just wondering if the power steering box from a 4wd will fit my 2wd? im pretty sure the pump should fit as long as it is off of the same engine, a 2.4 22re,correct?

also anyone have an idea of what kind of percentage horsepower gain i would get from a stage 2 cam?

thnx, glad to be part of the forum

dont know about the power steering, but i'd lean towards saying yes. everything in a 4 wd and 2wd should all be the same.

cam- dont know.

Cold air, do a search on the Deckplate Mod. cheaper version of the C.A.I.

Im almost positive the 2wd gearbox and the 4wd gearbox are different, but everything else in the p/s system is the same.... I remember looking at a couple of my mothers 2wd trucks to see if i could swipe the p/s gearbox off of them, and neither were like my 4wd.... both the 2wds were 86-88 ish and mine is an 87... dont know about other models, but for those it was different.

the pump will bolt on, but the box is definitely different. 4x4 box is larger and mounts with 3 bolts unlike the 2wd box that mounts with 2.

'84-95 at least should interchange, i think '79-83 might as well(the suspensions changed slightly so not sure)
