Tacoma custom rear bumper

My friend Brittan and I built a pair of rear bumpers for our Tacomas. I just posted an article on BAJATACO.COM about the build-up. We basically wanted something to improve departure angle, provide quarter panel protection, and also recovery points and a class 3 receiver tube.

WHOA nice work!!!
You should look into selling those, I'm sure you'd get a lot of interest. Hell, I'd be interested if it were the right price

Thanks so much guys We'll have to get some pics of Brittan's taco on here too. He has a silver D-cab with black Mojave wheels and ARE shell, and kept the bottom hoop tubing exposed. So even though the bumpers are the same, it gives a different look/perspective to the bumper.

I don't think these will be put into production, by us anyway. They are just waaaay too much work to ever get the cost down to an acceptable level.

Your truck is one of my favorites. I think it is great how you blend looks, funcition, and usage in one rig. Good off road and keeping it comfortable. I wish my truck was that nice to start with, but it is a bit too old! Keep up the awesome work!

This was a fun project. Chris and I had a good time and he is great to work with. It was not an easy task. Chris is creative and has a good eye for design.
I will post pics's when I have them uploaded to my server. The basic difference is the trim. I went with the open hanging lower hoop where Chris enclosed his. I fab'd my slider and front bumper too.

I put this up...shows my front bumper too. I will post my sliders when I have time. I enjoy doing these projects and hope more of us take them on. I am convinced the best ideas are "organic" and two, or more, heads are always better than one.
