lifting a 2nd gen with factory big tire kit
#1
noob question. my 92 4runner came with the big tire kit. now, does this mean that the only difference between mine and a 92 without the kit would be a.) the tires (duh...) and b.) gearing (i think its 4.56, but correct me if im wrong...)? the reason being is i have been interested in giving my ride some more height, and im interested in the second option from this thread:

I just want to know if there is more involved than just installing the kit...

I have option # 2 but without the shocks. I am looking into the shocks now as at full drop there is a thud due to the shock not slowing it down. I got the soft OME springs as I don't tow with the runner anymore. The ride of the springs is great. There is a little grinding for the BJ spacer install but it was pretty easy. I used a shortcut for the springs & BJ spacer install & it only took me about an hour for the front & an hour for the back. If you want to swing by this week-end & go for a ride to see the difference let me know. I am very pleased with the kit.
I am not going to do the diff drop as the angles aren't that bad as it is a mild lift. I am thinking of lowering the torsion bard a bit to equalize the articulation. You will also need a wheel alignment after the install.
