Question Outer CV joint/drive shaft/steering knuckle question

Is there supposed to be any noticeable play of the outer CV joint (I guess technically it's called the drive shaft) within the steering knuckle after the manual hub/ADD flange is removed? I know there are bushings on both sides of the steering knuckle, but how tight is this fit supposed to be?

There will be some play, even with new bushings. I replaced the bushings in mine and the side to side play didn't change much. When the flange/hub is replaced most of the play is eliminated.
There's a spec in the FSM for end play, it should be less than 1 mm between the outer bushing and the spacer just inside of the clip, when the axle is pulled outwards with a force of 10 kg.
One sign that the bushings need replacing is a clunking/groaning noise while turning at low speeds.

Thanks for the reply. So it seems like there is supposed to be some side-to-side play, while the FSM has a spec for the end play.
