Anyone Running Light Force 240's on stock Bumper (2nd gen 4Runner) ?
I used to have these (lightforce 240 Blitz) on my roof rack, but would like to move them to the front bumper since I don't always use the rack. I probably should have bought the smaller lights but this is what I have and I would like to make them work.
Anyone running these with the stock bumper? Can you share some mounting ideas and pictures?
Thanks,
Rob

Bob,
That's exactly the problem. I'm either going to recess them into the grill, make some brackets and only put them on when I need them, or sell them.
I was hoping someone had come up with a clever solution. I like them, they put out a good deal of light for the money just a little too big.
Gangus,
Not looking for a trade, I have some smaller lights.
Thanks,
Rob

robg,
if you plan on recessing your grill, take a look at my writeup on the "satoshi grill mod". it might give you enough room to fit those 240s on the grill. http://www.4runners.org/articles/satoshi
howver, ive seen those 240s on a 4th gen bumper (custom) and those things are massive on the 4th gen, which is a larger vehicle than the 2nd gen. id say either mount them on the roof or find a smaller lighting

They are Massive. When I bought them they were an extra $20 for twice the CP of the smaller lights, couldn't resist. I like the way they look on the roof rack but they are useless as the light off the hood and windshield blinds you. I think I'll make a bracket for them for the front bumper and only put them on for runs. Maybe someday a new front bumper.
I have a set of 75W Lazer Stars that I got cheap. They are tiny but put out a lof of light for their size, I'll put them on permanetly. Luckily my buddy I go out with most of the time has a set of PIAA 600 HID's. I just let him go first.
Bob, That is a great mod and a great write-up. I may be tempted to give that a Try.
Thanks All.
