Problem - 95 P/U with 3.0

My uncle has the exact same model of truck as mine right down to the colour except his is a 95 with around 270,000 miles or so. He has had the engine rebuilt at around 190,000 miles.

He has had recurring problems with this what appears to be fuel pumps the past few years. He is on fuel pump number 4. He has had a very good toyota certified mechanic where he used to live who ran his own shop go over his entire fuel system and replace a myriad of parts after the 2nd fuel pump went.

Basically what happens is this. He starts the truck in the morning. Starts up no problem. Truck gets warmed up, lets say he stops somewhere after a modest drive. If he stops for less than 5 minutes and gets back in the truck the truck starts up fine. If he stops for an hour or more, he gets in the truck it starts up fine. But it's between 5 minutes, and around an hour, that if he gets in the truck to try and start it, he says it won't start. The first time they did this, they replaced the fuel pump, the problem went away. 6-8 monthes later the problem came back. Replaced the fuel pump again. 6-8 monthes later it happens again. This time they go through a diagnostic and go through everything. He replaced things like the MAF (showed some minor wear), The fuel filter, and a bunch of other parts plus lots of $$$ in diagnostic work. Anyways a year later or so the problem resurfaces. And now he's on his 4th fuel pump.

Any thoughts or ideas? He had a Toyota master technician from the dealership I go to go through it and do a bunch of diagnostic work just this past week and he couldn't find anything wrong by doing things like pinching lines, and trying to figure out what the real problem could be. Has this happened to you or anyone you know? Any insight or thoughts?

makes me wonder what the condition of the fuel tank is?

Also have you checked all the Grounds? Could be bad wiring.

You just described the EXACT same problem my friends T100 has. The truck runs great and has good power. It just has the starting problem.
