get the crush washers from the stealer or auto parts store nearest you. i bought gear oil to do the diff fluids and they threw in 10, not a bad deal at all.

A thread was recently posted (this past week, if I recall) about drain plug washers and valves. Use the search feature. The discussion of that particular thread mainly dealt with opinions on replacing the washer vs. reusing and some members mentioned they were using the drain valves.

You'd know if it was leaking. Perhaps you haven't noticed that you have one since the washer usually comes off with the drain plug as 1 piece. Some of them are metal crush washers, some are fiber and some are plastic or rubber. If yours isn't leaking, I'd just look at it the next time you do an oil change and have 1 on-hand, if you're uncomfortable about it. The flange on the drain plug will often provide a good seal against the pan, but I'd put a washer on next time if you don't have one.

Right now I use a drain valve, it works great and you don't need to remove the skid plate to avoid covering it in oil. I do remove the drain once a year to make sure it doesn't seize up in there. Before I got the drain I never used a washer for the plug, pretty much was wrecked the first time so I didn't bother putting it in, never lost a drop of oil past the plug.
