? on value of 85 mini front axle

I have a line on an 85 front axle out of a stock 4runner. I don't know what I am going to do with it or when, but it is complete. Hub to hub with third member. I can pick it up for $200-$250.

Any thoughts??

I was planning on cleaning it up this winter and.....????

$150 sounds about right. Although I don't think it will work under you 3rd gen. most people use waggy axles for the drivers side drop

it won't work on a 3rd gen. wrong side drop (i think they're pass side) AND it's too narrow.

a waggy D44 is your best bet

$150-$200 is about right, but price is really set geographically I think. I got mine for $150 last year.

Bama's right, wrong side drop for your '99. (but I like where your head is... )

go w/ a waggy D44 with 4.88's and you can have matching front and rear ratios. after 4.88's, the ratios diverge... toy has 5.29's and dana has 5.38's, etc.

you can build a killer SAS w/ a D44 and some time and a whole lotta money.

it isn't for the 3rd gen. I know it won't work.
I was thinking b/c it is local and $200-$250 that I should grab it....you never know when an 86-95 4r needs a SAS

I don't know what I am thinking b/c I have two 4rs and an FJ60 now

$150 is a reasonable price for an old junkyard condition straight axle.

Out west they definitely get top dollar, especially in california for them...but you should be able to find one for less than $200. I found an 83 axle complete for $100 in AZ.

Buy it.

That is well worth it for a complete front.

Then sell the stuff you don't need:
-Diff for $50
-Inners and Birfs for $100
-Steering for $25

Now you have a $25 tube to stuff with all the good stuff.

That is what I was looking for. I can strip it, then spend my time this winter cleaning it up. That way it is ready...for what I don't know, but it will essentially free
