Hi,

I'm thinking about putting a 4-5' superlift on my 92 4runner and sticking 35 baja claws underneath it. Now that's not where the problem is. The entrance to my garage is only around 2.1 metres heigh (6'9"), now I do have to get into the garage, there is no option to leave it outside. So, would this combination be over this height or not??

I think it would be very close, but I would like to hear from you guys. If possible could you guys post your setups and the overall height of them.

Also would this combination of tyre and lift look ok?? Not into hardcore off roading so that's not really an issue. I would put a body lift on, but as I stated before, I unfortunately have limits. Don't mind doing some fender trimming to make it fit though.

if you are putting on such a big lift, why not try to find some tractor tires to put on there. a 4-5 foot lift might look silly with only 35 inch tires. you need to widen your wheelbase by about 12 feet to compensate for the COG being 4-5' higher too so you might have to retrofit a pair of cement truck axles too.

All of this is just a joke of course. I know you mean a 4-5" lift.

I would venture to say yes it would go over your limit. maybe 6 feet+ for stock 4runner height (give or take a few inches) + 5 inch lift + 2.5" (4.5" tire height diff divided by two for below axle only) = 6 feet 7.5" +/- a couple inches and then if you have a factory roof rack or plan on installing a wilderness rack or something, add another 4-8 inches. that would be overs 7 feet. why isn't parking her outside an option?

 

keisur seems to have given a good sum up of your height. All I can add is don't do the lift in your garage. I heard about a person that installed one in their garage and, when finished, realized their truck was too hight to get out the door. :confused: Not good.

A friend of mine was building a small plane in his backyard shed and later realized the tail was too high. He ended up having to knock appart some of the wall above the door and raised the beam. I don't think it was very hard to do. Maybe you could do that?

Personaly, I think the tire/lift combo would look good. You could probably even just use some 32" or 33" tires if you wanted to. I'm no pro on this kind of stuff (I'm 2wd), but thought I'd give you my thoughts on it. Your smart to be taking this kind of stuff into consideration first, before you do the lift. I probably wouldn't have thought of that.
