Talking best shock and tire for a stock '80 4x4

Used mostly on street... ( ok ok more like 99% on street ) Have KYB gas -a-just on now and they are just too hard
NOT interested in spending a fortune... GR-2's? Gabriels? Monroe? or ??

Looking also to get 4 brand new tires.. Want a nice mix between off road and road tires leaning more towards a quiter ride.

Any suggestions from you experts would be most helpful!

I just ordered a set of bilsteins today. You might want to look into them. My procomp 3000's (less than 2 years old) have caused my revos to cup. I am not happy with PC at all.

I heard that BF Goodrich all terrain t/a radials are an excellent choice... Looked them upon epinions and the praise was universal.. Now should I go with 30x9.5'x15 or 235/75/15's?

if its a streeter, 235s would be better... but 31s would fit the truck the best.....

Whats wrong with 30's (x9.5x15)? 31's would be too heavy a tire I think and be too tall as well... I did see a tire made by BF_Goodrich called the commerical T/A.. It only comes in the 235 size for me and I wouldn't know where to even get them...

pfft, you can fit 32s with NO rubbing and 33s if you whack the fenderwells a little. but 235s are the stock size and they'll work fine. might be revving a little high on the freeway with the 4 speed and 4.38 gears though. could always step up a little to 30s or 31s.

i'd suggest the bfg a/ts.

I actually have a 5 speed in the truck.. I kinda like the smaller tire though

Do these tires look familiar?? They are the original tires that came on the truck! Yup! Dunlops L78-15's!! I'm gonna get rid of them... kinda worn out of balance in the rear and the front are down to the wear bars ( what do you expect for a wear rating of 80??) Think they have any value? Oh and yes the truck reall has no rust on it at all but gosh, I sure would like a YELLOW truck ( hint hint Kyle.. )
