painting the ARB?
I have an ARB and I wanna know how tough it would be to sand it all down(with what?), I guess primer it?, and then paint it the color I wanted. Use spray paint for this? Would this be a tedious job? I always remember when I spray painted toy models when I was younger, I'd always touch the paint too soon and I'd leave finger prints. How long would I have to let the paint settle before re-applying a coat or two, and then actually touching it? Has anyone actually done this? I couldnt find anything with a search. Thank ya.

lol
maybe he is talking ARB bumper ...sand it with some 220 grit sandpaper and a scuffpad the red ones that should be good. if you need a good paint to use go with hammerite let it set up for 20 min before apliying another coat two coats should be penlty. let it dry for atleast 3 hours before touching it.

spend the extra money and get it powder coated in the color you want......its alot tougher....better yet, get it lined with bed liner in the color you want....then it will actually take some abuse...spray paint doesnt hold up for anything...

I have never understood why people would spend good money to get their off road protection powder coated or spray lined. I mean, it is there to get beat up. Rattle can it and it will be easy to touch up later.

lol...
yes, you can paint it.
yes, the paint will stick.
yes, you can scuff it w/ sandpaper.
yes, i've done it, and yes, i'd do it again.
no, i wouldn't pay someone else to do it. if i scratch my ARB, i sand, touch up, and re-spray clear. if you pay to do it, each scratch will be $100+ to fix - every time you go offroad...
if you do it yourself, then why are you considering painting it? changing color?
just wondering...
instead of paying someone else to paint it, go buy a $100 compressor, a $30 gravity spray gun from Harbor Freight, and practice. after you get decently good at laying down coats and get the gun adjustments figured out, get a quart of primer, a quart of base, a quart of clear, and a quart of reducer. that will run you about $60 for the cheap stuff and less than $100 for a good mid-grade brand. lay it down yourself and then you can touch it up later.
