Had to start My own build up thread. New pics!!
So with the duel 85's now i am getting ansy to start building the runner to the point that i can actually wheel it, and finish some of the things on the extra cab. So this is for both of them. I will start out with the runner.

I got this from a guy who smokes
, and can't stand the smell so today with the help of my kids i ripped out the interior!! I am going to replace the carpet with a roll I got years ago for another runner i had. It is Black instead of the ˟˟˟˟˟ brown that is in there now.

I also have rear seats and some panels and seat belts from a 89 (hmm where did i get that?) I and going to install them. I will paint the side panels black and any other plastic, and recover the fabric ones in black or black camo? For the front seats i will get just covers until i can find some others. The dash i have know idea what to do with that, Paint it? I also have the top off the 89 that i will swap because it is in better shape.
This is going to be a longer process than most build up's because i have to have this running at all times, so i can tote my kids around and be able to see them. And for me right now money is tight!
What i have planned:
I have to first try and rebuild everything stock cause it is all leaking.
Front axle rebuild to make work good.
Then rebuild with gears, locker, Longfields, Cross over steering.
Rear axle rebuild or swap for 89 rear?
then regear and lock.
I have a extra engine that cam out of the truck that already has a rebuilt head with O/S valves done by engbldr. I just need to rebuild the bottom end and will have to bore it to .040 seeing as it is already at .030. With the bottom end i wil polish and port the head and intake, big bore TB, dual T-chain and upgrade the spark. It has a header on it right now but i have no idea what kind so that may change also. the rest of the exhaust is stock and will be upgraded.
Of course sliders, bumpers, wench oh and winch also.
I also want to paint it. it has rust spots, more than i thought so i need to repair them and do some type of flairs?
I have to decide on the color though;
Keep it white so i don't have to much to paint?
Red to match my truck, and my sign on?
OR
Black to so some day i can be more like the wabbit, and joez, and also to match the interior?
And more when i learn of more!
Any thoughts, advice, spare parts, donations for my sob story of a life, or just a smart azz remark then point and laugh would all be welcome.
Thanks for viewing.

It will be rattle can paint so i know black looks good with a can and white i hard to mess up but would red be okay to work with and how would red look with a black interior. And what should i do about the dash?
Help!!
Wabbit whats the number for the organ doners?

Rustoleum rattle can. I'd go w/ a dark color as that doesn't show dirt/dust/grime...prime reason I painted my interior black too. Put the wires in black wire loom and nothing shows. Easy to maintain.
You know what I think of the color "red"...

Just started cleaning the interior panel's to be painted and it started to drip brown I think due to all the nicotine and tar from cigerette smoke.
Post pic hopefully have interior put back together tonight.

I'd just use dishwashing detergent and a hose on anything plastic like all the panels. Seats etc I'd either trash or steam clean several times after just hosing them down and scrubbing w/ dishwashing detergent. Carpet, same thing.
Good luck...I'm up to my elbows in grease myself!

Okay got the cargo area carpeted, and put in the back part of the rear seats and almost have the new stereo and CB in replaced the rear window it is clear instead of purple tint that is pealing. And spent to much time and money at the store, I have a feeling i will have to get used to that.
Thanks Brian, i actually used grease lighting and it got it pretty clean. I am not going for the show look. so I don't mind the runs in the paint either. The seats I tryed shampooing and they are just falling apart, I have old seat covers for them but will replace them.
Pics will be tomarrow when i have back to gether more and it is not dark.

Okay got a little further on the interior and here is a pic of the rear drivers side panel in the cargo area.
Hopefully paint will dry and i can put more together and redo the cloth door and rear panels. and get the carpet in on the front and back seat floors.

Finished most of the interior here are a few pics of it.
Just got to paint the dash and cover the rear head rests and find some gray seats and do the head liner of the cab and the topper. but those will have to wait.

I used the rustoleum plastic on allthe plastic so far and it worked well, it is all the black by the way.
Yeah the camo was an added bonus got it at the wally mart for about $12, Got to get more for the Head liners.
The Red is so cool, or as the girlies say HOT!

Those speakers, pannels, the top, and rear seats look FREAKING AWESOME.
On the dash I used a spray paint called vinyl dye from an autoparts store, and it worked alot better than the krylon plastic IMO because it covered well without loosing some of the original texure, which cut down on glare, and has been alot more resistant to scratches. Pics
I used the both krylon and rustolum plastic paints one on the center console, and one on the radio face plate. I even got a new center console to paint because I liked the outcome of the Vinyl dye paint so much better.
Thanks for the PM Brandi !!

Vinyl Dye is a special kind of paint that is used to paint plastics. Unlike normal paint which puts a color coat on the surface vinyl dye 'seeps' into the plastic and colors it from within. This means that the surface detail of engravings/reliefs is not affected and the paint can not be scratched or peeled away. Vinyl dye does not adhere properly to some surfaces, such as those made of metal and those that have been spraypainted before. It needs some plastic to soak into and form a bond there.
