Exclamation Ct20 Turbo

How ya doin out there! Im new to this message lark, so id like to say firstly that its nice to see so many people who appreciate 4runners and Hilux Surfs. I drive a Hilux Surf to which i have added various mods over thee last three years and repaired quite a few things, cracked cylinder head being the most expensive. I just got my alternator overhauled because the vacuum pump went leaving me with no brakes on a mountain road last week. Close call. While i had the alternator out, i took the turbocharger apart again. It keeps leaking oil into the inlet manifold, but it is also sucking oilin through the pcv valve coming from the cylinder head cover. I'd like to know if this is normal and if anyone knows a place where i can get a turbo servicing kit. I know this is a pretty long message, i'll make them shorter in the future and hopefully i'll have some pics too. I'd appreciate any help you guys would have

Cheers!

A slight amount of oil through the PCV valve is normal, the other oil sounds like your seals are shot in the turbo. I don't know where you can get a rebuild kit, but I believe 3rd gen supras use the CT20b so you may try asking on one of those boards.

Hey Delboy,
check these sites out. I used to have a 22rte 4runner and it was a blast. You might not want to just fix that ct20, there are more powerful and cheaper alternatives than the stock turbo.

Here is an article about an upgrade turbo kit made by turbo engineering in Golden, CO(I wish I knew that when I lived less than a mile from them) Turbo engineering upgrade atricle

This is Jeff Moskovitz's site, he has done a lot to extract power out of his 22rte. Jeff's 22rte site

I'm also a member of an email group of 22rte's that's hosted by yahoo. I can't remember the site, but just go to Yahoo and search it and you should find the group.

Hope this helps,

Salue

Cheers Guys

I was kind of thinking a total replacement might be the way to go! I'll look into it!
