new tube bumper

Well one more addition to my 82 truck.
Here's the latest on the tube work being done to it.

Still have to get the sliders done and do some more finish welds add light tabs for the turn signals and sand and paint it.

Similar in design to the badlands bumper but way lighter and stronger since it is welded right to the frame. We can pretty much put any kind of winch we want on it we used 1/4" plate for the mount. We had the winch plate bent at Iriqouis a place that fabricates dumptruck and utility work beds.
My buddy Damien does some nice work though for just using a cheap harbour freight tubing bender.

dude, you gotta make me one. i wouldnt mind paying that much for a bumper like that. one other thing though, if you can, bars going from the top part to the outer ends like prerunner style. how much would it be to ship it? if you're willing to make me one that is.

I would have to ask my buddy he is the one making it not me.
He thought about doing it but I think he would rather have the vehicle there as a template to make it.
He has made one for a tacoma that was similar to it but the vehicle it was mounted to is now totalled the guy went off the road last year and rolled it.

www.badlandbumpers.com makes bumpers like that for your tacoma

This style is $600 on thier site

This style is $550

I dunno if you want something right away I would go for something bolt on like this.

Mine is actually permantly mounted to mine since it's welded to the front of the frame.

Mine bolts to the four OEM holes up front and ties into the front hanger w/ some additional bracing...ain't going no where and it is removable. Might consider some additional hoops to protect the corners i.e. headlights, corner lights, hood, etc.

Looks good.

It's painted.
I spent many hours sanding it with 80 grit sandpaper and cleaning it.
I then preped it with some liquid etching rust converter and then painted it.
I'll get some pics of it tomorrow.
