no.
i even sanded it down with a dremel and everything. the problem now seems to be the hitch receiver itself. for some reason the holes on the carrier insert don't line up with the receiver holes ...
Steve and i are still discussing it ... he called me the other morning and we talked a bit, and said he'd call again. sooooo ... we'll see.
it's part of the reason i'd like to find a place or person to make a front and rear bumper with me. i have pictures of the different designs i like, and the most time consuming part would be cutting down whatever on the truck needed to be cut down or modified first.
Chris, it is not at all that i doubt your abilities, i had just figured that someone who had already made a lot of bumpers might be more comfortable with the project, and like garrett mentioned, part of me is just a little tired of struggling with the issues that come up - so i thought if it was someone who had made a bunch of bumpers before, it might be easier for everyone involved. that said, if i hadn't been frustrated out of my mind working on truck things recently, i would love to work with you on something. i just want to make sure it's made to work with the airbags and be as safe as possible ... and i don't know a thing about those types of specifications.
anyone heard of baertrax locally? or any other local shop that does custom fabrication?

that would be fun ... maybe we can think of something smaller to start with? i'd love to learn how to fab stuff as well. i wouldn't want to start with a bumper though ... i wouldn't trust myself to know enough to make it safe ... but we could think of something smaller to try for your truck or mine or someone else's and just mess around with it. that'd be awesome to do sometime.

my biggest issue is that i cannot talk to or go to these places alone due to every other experience i've had when i've done that before.
