Ok I got the price I would have to pay for the Cabela's strap and its $24.74 shipped... then saw the strap at 4wheelparts thanks to shiftless for $19.99 shipped...

From the sizes of both and prices compared the 4wheelparts is a no brainer right? The only reason I would consider Cabela's is because their customer service is amazing... if it broke I am sure you could return it and get a brand new one... I know because I work there ...

Would 4wheelparts do the same? Or should I even care about that?

i would buy the one that is cheaper and has more capacity.....

i doubt either company would accept it back if you broke it... thats a consumable part, especially when you consider the type of shock loads placed on it......

 

Alright thanks! Yeah I will go with the 4wheelparts one... seems like a better deal... but it really wouldnt surprise me if Cabela's would accept it back...

 

since you work there, they might bend the rules... however no company in its right mind would say... here use or product... and if you abuse it and it breaks well give you a new one for free......

there are a few exeptions to that like sear craftsmen hand tools and what not... but that isn't the cast with most purchases

 

Unfortunately, that is a high liability item and like jim said, a consumable. to be honest I have a 2"x20' strap and a 3"x30' , and have been so stuck it took both straps an two trucks to get me out! sometimes the 30' is too long and the 20' is too short, and if I have to I have 50' of pull! If you use it frequently replace it every couple of years or so to be safe, $20 or $30 bucks every few years is cheap insurance!

 

Yeah I understand that and agree with it... only reason I said that is because their company has a 100% satifaction policy... no matter what...

 

Cabelas will take anything back, no questions asked. They took back my dad's 10 year old gore-tex jacket because it started leaking.

 

Haha yeah I just work at one of the call centers that are in my town... people call and place orders and other things like that...

One guy had a like 12 year fishing pole lol that broke and called and wanted a new one for free... and he got it!

Then another person had a pair of goretex boots that were probably older than me... and he said they started to leak and they gave him a new pair... hah

There have been some other weird ones like that... but its really a nice thing to see a business do... and people dont really seem to take advantage of it because most of the things work perfectly...

 

Well I just purchased the 2" x 30' strap from 4wheelparts.com...

So total was around 22 bucks...

Will do... finally didnt have anything to do today so finished everything on the 4runner! Now its sittin at a buddies muffler shop to get the muffler and cat put on... but it will be ready to drive tomorrow... woohooooooo
