usually pulling to the right or left during breaking is a sign of bad alignment.
I used to have this problem often in my Jeep since I offroaded it so often. Every once in a while I would goto an empty parking lot get upto 40 mph take my hands off the wheel and press the brake. If it stayed straight it was still good.
It could also be something to do with the brakes. When you removed the pads did either look less worn then the other?
Make sure both tires are inflated to the same PSI as well.
