Carb Fuel pump
To replace a 22re with a 22r would i need to replace the fuel pump?

yes, the 22RE fuel pump is in the tank -- you'll probably need to swap the whole tank as the EFI and carbed tanks are different.
why are you downgrading though? if you blew up your 22RE and are installing a 22R, remember that you can swap your manifolds on to it and convert it to a 22RE with minimal effort.

well actually, the truck i have was a 22rte, the previous owner put a 22r in and now i am trying to figure out what he had to do to switch it. so i can assume the fuel tank was removed from mine? the computer wouldnt have to be removed right? does the 22re have a different cam than the 22r? do you know if the 22rte had a diff computer than the 22re? thanks for your help
