How high is to high, before needing a diff drop. 1,2, 2.5, 3.0 inches
Because I will be putting PP1 springs and 5mm trim spacers up front.

Sorry about that, it would be a 96 4x4 4runner 3.4L.

 

1" spacer will do just fine from SS3

You really dont HAVE to have a diff drop till you get up in the 2"-3" range to answer you question. defintately do not go over 3 inches on suspension tho.

 

Usually recommended above 2", you can install a drop kit at 2" and below, but the biggest benefit comes above 2":

Not much to the installation (instructions on-line at the page above), hardest part is dealing with the skid plates. Kit includes hardware to reattach them, the variable is how much work you need to do enlarging the holes to fit them back on. Seems to be quite a bit of variation here, some folks just bolt them back up w/ no problems, others have to spend the better part of an hour refitting the skidplates back in place.

Thanks dudes you guys have been very helpfull. I believe I will go with the PP1, billies which I am still wating for the rear two wich were sent incorrect from Cabe, and the 1 inch diff kit from Sonoran, just to be on the safe side.

I will also be using a 5MM trim spacer up front, would I need extended studs or would the stock ones still work??

I did the 1" diff drop on my 96 which had a 3" lift on it. Worked out great.. Kinda hoped i got the 1.5" tho.. depends how high you go I guess.
