Thumbs down Just gotta complain...

What was Toyota thinking when they put those crappy BFG Rugged Terrain T/A tires with the TRD Off Road package? They absolutly SUCK. Now that I have been doing some driving in the snow with them I really have to vent about how bad they are. They are terrible off-road as well. I had a chance this past weekend to drive a friends Tundra with the Toyo Open Country A/T's. I was very impressed with the way that they handled in the snow and on dry pavement. I will be upgrading to them shortly.

Does anyone else agree with me? I know that the manufacturers have to take the lowest bid when buying components, but this is really bad. If they are going to tout the vehicle as being an off-roader then they should have paid more money and attention to such an important component.

Ok, I'm done now.

Heh...the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires that were on my 2000 when I bought it new sucked hardcore as well. They are the worst excuse for a tire I have ever seen.

Wy does it seem so obvious that Toyota puts crappy rubber on an excellent vehicle? The Bridgestone H/T 689's that came on my 2000 are garbage. They suck in the snow and are nearly shot with 26,000 miles on 'em. Luckly, my REVO's are expected within the next 2 weeks...

Those same tires came on my '97 when I purchased it, everytime I would go into a turn, all you heard was the rear tires squeeling. Before I replaced them, I smoked the tires up, those tires did deserve it!

They are quiet though

- the BFG's that I will have on next month will make it all better though.

hehehhe You are just now figuring this out? hehehhe

On the way home from the dealership with my new truck, I said to myself "these tires blow and have got to go". Still, I tried giving them every chance and when I finally had a enough, I started smoking them up every chance I got so I could wear them enough to justify replacing them.

At 3,000 miles, about two months old, I lifted the truck 3" and went with a better tire. I have never regretted that

And what's up with that size? 265/70R16??!! All the tire shops look at you like you are smoking crack when you give them that size...

Toyota's choice in tires suck. Even Ford puts BFG ATs on their FX4's, you would think Toy could put those on there.

No, I've known it for a while. I just got fired up enough to bitch about it in the forum...

While I do appreciate the offer, I wouldn't want you to get spoiled. I just don't know if I could live with myself if I did that to you.

When I have the money to buy the Toyo's you can bet that I will do the smoke show of the centuary. I'll be sure to take a picture for everyone to see.

I have bridgestones on mine, (I think) still stock tires, they seem okay to me, they do however squeek when I turn in the parking lots and i'm going fast, but I think that's normal or is it?
