I have a 97 4Runner and wanted to know if anyone knew if a 2001 grille and a 2001 hood with the scoop would retrofit onto a 97 and if so, is this an installation that is easy? Needless to say, I wouldn't even classify myself as an intermediate mechanic and just a little nervous about disassembling things if you know what I mean. Thanks!

 

I'm pretty sure the hood should fit no problem. I'm not 100% sure about the grill, but I think it should as well. The only thing that won't work without some serious modifications is the lower valence, but since you didn't ask about that, you should be good to go...

Some other guys should be able to confirm this pretty soon.

 

The grilles will interchange, no problem. May as well upgrade to the newer headlights too.
