22r head trq specs?

Hey i am throwing my head back on but i need to know what to torque the head to. Anyways thanks.

Factory spec is 58 ft/lbs but I have seen aftermarket specs as high as 62 ft/lbs.

i didn't wanna monkey around with bolts and stepped up for some ARP studs...i torqued them to 80lbs which makes popping a head gasket less likely. also much, MUCH easier to align the head.

same motor...i've never heard of using 74lbs on factory head bolts. i'd be afraid of one going BOOM

From the FSM for a 22re

3. INSTALL ROCKER ARM ASSEMBLY
(a) Place the rocker arm assembly over the dowels on the
cylinder head.
(b) Install and tighten the head bolts gradually in three
passes in the sequence shown. Torque the bolts on
the final pass.
Torque: 78N–m (800kgf–cm, 58ft–Ibf).

I think I would stick with that #.

my main caps went on at 85#


...of course, i also went overboard and bought ARP main studs

i jsut did the head on my 22r, the torque spec is head bolts @ 58 ft/lbs.... my friends a mechanic and told me to torque them to 75 and i wont have any problems.. i didnt....
