Pics request: 4th gen 4Runner with 3rd row seats

Hi all. I went to a local dealership this weekend and wanted to take a look at a 4th gen 4runner with a 3rd row seat, but they didn't have any of the lot. They said that they are pretty rare, along the lines of 1 out of 50 4runners they get have the 3rd row option. So, anyone have any pictures of how much room there is back there? I saw a Highlander with the 3rd row seat and it was tiny. Thanks.

i don't have any pics (i'm sure someone does) but i was sort of horrified when i saw them because i couldn't imagine what kind of pretzel a person would have to be tied in to fit back there comfortably.

the 4runner is really no different from the highlander but i think abit more room. definitely only for the small kids as there's no way an adult would fit comfortably.

if you're looking for a roomy 3rd suv, try the sequoia.

good luck

I'm not looking for a very roomy 3rd row seat. The Sequoia is just too big for my liking. I just like the idea of at least having the option for more passengers if necessary.

i think the 3rd row would be relatively uncomfortable for an adult.

I bought the 3rd row, have pics up tonight

Hey, I bought the third row (but miss the moonroof) and it was most definitely not built for adults. I just had a second child and I bought it for them. My wife is small (5') and she could go back there if needed. I'll take some pics and put 'em up. The nice thing about them is they can be taken out in two seconds if needed, they recline, and there is lots of room when they are up against the windows. They also look like a nice, well made seat for a removable third row, not just some piece of crap thrown in there just to say there's room for 7.
I looked at the pilot, highlander, and 05 pathfinder, and I found the 4Runner the best of all, thank goodness. I wanted a 4Runner but needed the approval of my wife and she liked this the best too.

I have a 3rd row seat from someone's minivan (storing it for them - no one uses those things - but it looks nice in my office...) and I tried to get the girl down the hall to let me set it on the roof of her black Lexus (the one that's the 4Runner - although she nearly killed me when I told her that, she doesnt believe it...) for a picture to reply to this thread...

Hmm, so when the 3rd row seat isnt in use, you dont fold it down? You have to take them out? If that's the case, then I wouldn't want it. If you can post pics, that'd be great. Thanks.

4th pic down

The 4th pic down is a close up at how to get the seat in and out. Just push the red tab and it pops right out. When I went shopping around and saw this third row, I asked the dealer if the seat comes out completely and he told me "NO".

Actually, at first I believed him so I was pissed about it. When I looked closer and saw how easy it was to take them out I was out of there since he had no clue about the Toyota 4Runner on his Toyota lot. Dummy!
