265/70-16's vs. 265/75-16's?

What are the pro's and con's of changing from my stock size 265/70-16's to 265/75-16's? I'm figuring my speedometer will indicate about 2 mph less at 60 mph.

Tires

I did the same swap on my T100 and the only change I saw was the auto trans seemed to "hunt" for the over drive more often. Looks 10 time better with the wheel wells filled up. Good luck!

I've read that the stock speedo shows high from the factory - so changing to a slightly larger diameter tire actually brings the reading closer to actual. I went from the stock 265/70s to 275/70 REVOS - and love them.

that's what happened to me. According to my gps, my speedo is more accurate now with the 265/75's... it's now like 1 mph slow vs. 4 mph fast with the 265/70's.

I had the exact same thing happen to me.....GPS showed a little slow w/70's, but it's right on now with the 75's. Seems I lost just a little power on grades, but I could be imagining it, as I was kind of expecting that to happen. However, after the header (it's a 2.7L so headers wouldn't really be appropriate, huh?) and cat-back, I'm probably doing a little better than before the swap. Go for the 75's....it's a good choice

Thanks, gents. I've been having trouble finding a particular tire in the 265/70-16's anyway and the 75 series are in stock.

I don't need to mention that YotaTech is the BEST!!!

Dirty pool from Toyota. Makes people think they are getting better mileage than they really are. I noticed the same from my speedo. You'll get very minor rubbing on the plastic with the +1 size. Definately worth it though.
