22r compatibilty with 22re

i have found the carb'd versions MUCH cheaper at junkyards than the EFI's. My EFI is just fine (i need a new block). Is it possible to snag a 22r, then just straight swap the blocks? im hoping the intake manifolds are the same on the two types..anyone help me with this? thanks!

In 85 the blocks got 2 milimeters taller or something silly like that. No one will ever know why. But you need to get a block from an '85 - '87 22R. It should work but i'm no engine expert. I'm just guessing, sorry.
