used internal cab cage. Worth 150?? body bolt on....

Is an internal cab cage worth 150 used????

I found a BOLT ON roll cage for an 85 pickup. It DOES mount to the body, NOT the frame.

The guy thinks it' a pro-comp cage but he's not sure. Is it worth 150 bucks just for the bolt on roll cage for the CAB only?????

How effective are these at saving your skull in a low speed rollover? And is it worth 150???? thanks!

thanks!

i wouldnt trust any bolt on cage in cab... especially if there is no frame tie ins... look at allpros in cab cage.... its 2 times that, and requires a welder, but it has provisions to tie into the body mounts

I would never get a cage that didnt mount to the frame. It's pointless and might cause more injury in the case of an accident.

I'd buy it, the rising cost of steel makes it a good deal. You can make it 'tie' into the frame easy enough. Even if you don't, it will help keep the cabs shape and the cab will help to keep the cage's shape. They will work together. I'd still tie in to the frame though.
What size tubing is it?

Maybe i'll bolt it on and then weld some gussets/frame attachments????

Thanks for the info/advice!
