So today I accidently took out my deck (the face plate) while the music was on still and now there is no sound from my speakers...like i cant hear anything from them but my sub works perfect so now all i hear is bass.. what coul dbe the problem?

 

Need more info: what kind of deck is it? Are the speakers all aftermarket? My guess is that the 4 chanels from the deck are not working but the RCA out to youre amp is.

 

The deck is an Alpine CDA9813 AMP is jl 1000/1 sub is JL W7 12"

 

oh and all the speakres are stock.....

 

Sounds like a sofware problem. I would recomend disconecting the power and re-conecting it as to re-sett the computer in the deck.

I supose there is a possability that the intranal amp shut down for some reason. I think most decks have a fuse on the back but I'm not totally sure. It sounds like you have a really nice system so I am guessing the retailer you bought the stuff from would be very helpfull (Unless you bought it mail order like I did) so I would give them a call. Anyone else have any Ideas?

 

well your headunit sure is nice...i dont think thats the problem. however, even though they were working fine, running those piece of junk stock speakers with that nice of a head unit and sub/amp combo...it might be better theyre not playing. if you have still have it...put the stock cd player setup back in, hook it up to the speakers, and see if they play...if they do, then most likely its something with that alpine head unit not liking your speakers.

 

thanks but i awnt to FIX the problem and leave the stock speakers if possible.. i just dont get how one situation wher ei pulled out the face plate would this probelm be caused wheri have to replace the speakers... just odd to me...

 

The speakers shouldn't make any real diference. Just sounds like an odd glitch in your head unit. If you have the manual, check about a fuse in the head unit. One thing I just realized is that your facoty speakers are probably amplified by factory amplifiers and therefore there might be a fuse for them. That's kind of a shot in the dark but it's worth a look in your fuse box. What year 4runner is it?

 

check that fuse in the back of the head unit...that'd be my first guess. Is there a reset button behind the face on the head unit. If so then try that...just my .02 hope it helps

ok so i reset the battery and the Basss is perfectly normal when i play music, but the reason why I'm convinced its the HU is because when i start a song or change a radio station, the sub hits HARD and before it never did that..like when i just change the radio station it goes BOOM haha so its gotta be the HU in my opinion...its under warranty so I think I'll send it in...but before i do so any other suggestions?

You got grounding issues I think. Either that or something in your HU fried.

First just check the continuity of the speakers wires first, then check your connections and fuses. After that, try swapping the HU.

Good point. Most installers use twist conectors when wireing in a head unit cus they are easy but they pop off easily so the ground conection may have disconected. The deck might still power on from the grounding of the caseing screwed to the dash. I would just pull it out of there and make sure everything is in order.
