Detroit doesn't make an EZ locker for the Taco rear. You have to go with a Lockrite. (Same locker, cept lockrite's are usually a little more) Part# 1615 I believe.
Trust me I learned the hard way.

i will need lockers eventually. any pointers on lockers that are decent on as well as offroad other than an arb. i would love an arb, but it's way over my budget and it seems like it would be rather unreliable having to install an air compressor and air lines and all that fun stuff. too much stuff to break. i also heard you have to check your gear oil like religiously with those. anyhoo, i heard lock rites are fairly cheap if i'm not mistaken and are fairy easy to install yourself if i'm not mistaken? i want to do the minimum lift to fit 33's and if lock rites aren't too expensive and if they can be installed myself i might drop one of those in. then after that's done, leave my truck the way it is for a long time until i have enough money to regear down to 4.88's and get 33's and a detroit in the rear and a limited slip in the front. from there it's save up for a SAS but that's a whole different story. anyhoo, i kinda wrote alot there. i like telling stories i guess. anyhoo, any input would be grand. you guys rule. thanks.

Many guys here are running ARBs, some even dual, and while yes, your potentially running a risk of something malfunctioning with the airlines and/or compressor, you'd be surprised how little you hear of it.

The same guys that are running ARBs can tell you personally, they will not go back to any other locker, regardless. The luxury of enganging or disenganing when needing it far outweights the possibility of it going bad.

hmm interesting. well, my budget right now won't allow an arb. when i'm done now, i might settle with a detroit in the rear and a limited slip in the front. maybe later down the road i'll think about arbs. those things are just so expensive! haha.

give Randys a call and see what they want for one.....actually think you should price an Aussie also....they are supposed to be "better behaved" than the EZ or lockrite http://www.randysringandpinion.com/

here's a copy/paste from www.aussielocker.com that I found interesting....

Very low backlash

The"Aussie Locker" has approximately 1/2 the backlash of some other automatic lockers. The design use specialized low profile gear sets (small, wide teeth) which have almost zero backlash when engaged resulting in smoother operation. Any backlash present in the locker occurs between the cross shaft acting in the grove cut in the cam gear. Because the camming operation is smooth and progressive, rather than sharp and abrupt, it results in well mannered handling characteristics over other automatic lockers.
