Warn makes one

I made my own, since my hitch receiver tube is a non-standard size:

Another option is to get a no-drop hitch, remove the ball and use the hole to attach a shackle to. I used to run one of those, but it was a bit heavy and bulky and I had to remove it from the bumper in between use.

Um, like try and click on the "Dealer Locator" link on Warn's page.

Most any 4x4 shop carries Warn stuff, 4 Wheel Parts Warehouse, etc.

Not sure of the price, $50 would be a good guess.

Or the DIY version is about $15-25 for the drop hitch (most auto parts stores) and $15-25 or so for the shackle, Warn uses 5/8", you can fit up to a 7/8" shackle into a std. 1" hitch ball mounting hole. That's the size shackle I run. I got mine at my local hardware store. Nice thing is you also have a tow ball out of the deal, too. If you already have a drop hitch, no need to buy that part.

I paid around $30 for my Warn shackle at www.central4wd.com
but went to my local one to buy it.

Roger, that is a nice looking one you made.
And who can forget this one?
I think you posted it a few times in the past on 4x4wire.

We have some huge ones like that at work for rigging.
I am going to see if I can get one from the boss to use.

Yes, kind of like the Crocodile Dundee scene:

[Dundee is threatened by a mugger with a switchblade]
Mick, give him your wallet.
What for ?
He's got a knife.
[chuckling] That's not a knife.
[Dundee draws a large Bowie knife]
THAT'S a knife.

Talking Hitch mounted shackle

Use your hitch receiver, take out the ball, insert at 3/4" shackle, WARN's are around $16.

OR

Buy a WARN hitch receiver shackle for about $40 locally or more w/ shipping.

Tip: If you leave a shackle on your rig all the time, zip tie the pin so it doesn't vibrate loose and fall out.

I made mine as well. I drilled the end of the pin larger to add a padlock (not shown in pic) so nobody walks away with my creation. I'd suggest the same for you. Forty bucks is forty bucks, right?

Best price I could find was at Performance Products (PerformanceProducts.com)... I believe it was $35 for the shackle and the hanger.

I can't vouch for the quality of these, but this is a set of 2 hangers (Receiver brackets-one hook type and one shackle type) plus a shackle and also a pin and clip. The whole set is only $42.99. I don't think this price can be beat, especially when you get free shipping on the weekends. http://www.4wheelparts.com/4wp/packa...arentPacID=81# I just bought these last Saturday, should be here by the end of the week. Cheapest I've seen by far.

The stuff I got is made by Warn, so the quality is top-notch.
