2nd Gen 4runner suspension questions...

ok, I've been researching this for a while because I'm on a nickels and dimes budget and just looking for a lift to put on my 2nd gen 2wd that is basically just a pavement pounder, and I have a few questions I'd like to ask the experts.

1. Is there any body lift options for automatic transmission 2nd gens?

2. Does anyone supply a cheap complete lift kit just for the front?

I'm looking for around 5 inches of lift somehow as cheap as possible. I know there are 5.5 inch lift coils for the rear, and I was looking for a cheap 4 inch kit for the front and 1.5 inch ball joint spacers.

thanks for any info available, thanks.

What's your goal? Just looking cool, or fitting certain size tires, or....?

Why do you want a 5" lift on a 2WD 4Runner?

If you want to run 33's, you don't need much other than the 1" BL, some rear leveling springs (Downey, OME, etc.) and a slight tweak of the torsion bars.

Want more (but cheap), add a 1 1/2" ball joint spacer up front and Land Cruiser rear coils and work the wheelwells a bit, close to factory backspacing on the wheels and you can probably fit 35's.

2wd isn't really necisary(sp) here in So-Cal, and its more for looks than anything, seeing as its my daily driver, yet it will still be seeing some dirt, but its primarily just a atv hauler.

I have a 93 4x4 and was looking into doing something about the butt sag - I have a custom audio install and a towing package, so mine is dropped down pretty low.

A local shop has the OME's, I wanted the downeys but can't seem to find anywhere to buy them. Does anyone know of a good mailorder source?

Also, where would I be able to get landcruiser springs? and I would I have to do any kind of mods to put them in?

I don't want to have to grind any skid plates or worry about drive line angles, so should I just stick with the 1.5"?

I sure wouldn't lift an auto 3.0 and add bigger rubber if it was going to tow anything.

Mike hit the common 33's and 35's.

I have a BL from Roger Brown on my auto.
